Sankofa Experience: Act of Change Inc. Institute of Cultural Arts presents its annual re-enactment of the harsh realities of slavery and the path to freedom. Visitors can participate in simulations of being captured by slave traders, making the treacherous middle passage by ship to America , being auctioned as a slave and escaping to freedom via the Underground Railroad. Or they can simply observe. Participants are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing for outdoor activities. The event will include drumming, dancing and a marketplace in a re-created African village. From 1 p.m. until dark today and Sunday at Morney-Berry Farm, 9455 Lancaster-Hutchins Road .
